LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE - Certified
The strokes applied
in manual lymphatic drainage massage are intended to stimulate the movement
of the lymphatic fluids in order to assist the body in cleansing.
This is a gentle, rhythmical technique that cleanses the connective
tissue of inflammatory materials and metabolic wastes, enhances the
activity of the immune system, reduces pain and lowers the activity
of the sympathetic nervous system, (Fight or Flight), thus increasing
the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, (Relaxation).
Using the flat part of the fingertips and hands, with the weight of
about two quarters, lymphatic drainage is about moving skin, not muscle
tissue. This manual stimulation stretches the lymph nodes, helping to
release and remove whatever was causing the congestion in the nodes.
This very light, yet effective modality produces the following results
